EVBox Troniq Modular: Now ready for use as a public charging station in Germany and Austria

With the growing demand for fast EV charging infrastructure, the Measurement Instruments Directive (MID) and different European Union member states are establishing laws on calibrated metering. Calibration is significant in energy because it gives an indication of measurement Different countries in the EU have implemented their own additional legislation; including the precise measurement of energy in kWh delivered to the car with a receipt signed by the consumer.

The German calibration law indicates that publicly accessible charging stations in Germany and Austria, where the charging station bills the customer directly, must specify the amount of energy delivered in kWh to the user. This also requires the calibration of the displays and indicators at the charging stations. By meeting the compliance standards of Eichrecht, the EVBox Troniq Modular will now enter the German and Austrian market, ready for semi-public and public area usage. EVBox is also putting forward proposed calibrated metering solutions for other countries and fulfilling respective local regulations.

This is a significant milestone for EVBox. Germany and Austria are leading markets for electric vehicles and with our Eichrecht-compliant DC fast chargers, we contribute to building the public and semi-public charging infrastructure for a more sustainable future.  (Maurice van Riek, CTO of EVBox)
