EVBox Livo 2 is a new charging station for residential EV charging, specifically for EV drivers looking to charge with their own solar electricity. With the EVBox Solar Charging solution, homeowners now have even more options when looking to optimize their energy consumption with EV charging.
AMSTERDAM, 30 May 2024 – EVBox, a leading provider in electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, released EVBox Livo back in 2022 as their new generation of home charging. EVBox Livo has several smart charging features, including the capability to solar charge via an EEBUS-compatible home energy management system. Now, EVBox has released EVBox Livo 2, which can solar charge in two ways: Via a third-party home energy management system or via EVBox's Dynamic Load Balancing kit and the EVBox Everon app.
EVBox Livo 2 is a great fit for homeowners that are looking to optimize their energy consumption with just solar panels and an EV. By combining EVBox Livo 2 with the Dynamic Load Balancing kit, EV drivers can take control over their solar charging.
When using EVBox’s charging management software app, EVBox Everon, with EVBox Livo 2, homeowners can choose from three different charging modes:
- Full Power: Charges at the maximum power using both solar and grid power.
- Hybrid: Charges using solar power supplemented by grid power only when needed.
- Full Solar: Charges with solar power only.
Pairing with a third-party energy management system to solar charge is best for homeowners that also want to optimize other large energy loads in their home, such as heat pumps, air conditioning, or a stationary battery. Both EVBox Livo and EVBox Livo 2 are capable of integrating with an energy management system which supports EEBUS.
Now more than ever, lowering your energy bill and reducing your CO2 emissions is of importance for homeowners. Our goal is to develop charging solutions that enable the energy transition while reducing the load on the grid. I am proud that at EVBox, we are doing just that; creating charging solutions that contribute to a sustainable future and give EV drivers control.Rombout Heesterman (Director of AC Product Management at EVBox)
