EVBox Livo launches integration with energy management system TQ Last year, EVBox announced the start of integrations with Energy Management Systems (EMS) through the open and standardized EEBus communication protocol. An EMS allows users to control energy generation, storage and consumption within their household, providing a solution for renewable energy usage at home with EV charging. AC residential charger, EVBox Livo has been successfully tested with TQ-Systems - enabling homeowners to expand and manage their smart energy home ecosystem.
AMSTERDAM, January 25, 2023 — EVBox, a leading provider in electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, has been testing different Energy Management Systems (EMS) manufacturers through the EEBus standardization with AC chargers EVBox Livo (home charging station) and EVBox Liviqo (commercial charging station).
These EMS platforms provide a solution for the increase in energy usage that comes with EV charging. Now, EVBox Livo is fully tested with the EEBus-capable EMS from TQ, allowing EV drivers to save on their energy bills and take control of their energy usage with solar panels, battery storage, and heat pumps. EVBox Livo can connect with an increasing number of EEBus-capable EMS providers like TQ, giving homeowners the opportunity to optimize their utilization of energy sources, such as renewable energy generated by solar panels.
EVBox and TQ are advocates for EEBus as the universal language for energy management, simplifying interoperable communication between electrical producers, consumers and storage. As electric mobility is rapidly growing and becoming the new normal in the near future, solution standardization must meet the ever-changing needs. Across Europe, homeowners are looking to electrify their homes to reduce their carbon footprint and save on their energy bill. EEBus is ready for future developments in energy management, so that the impact that comes from EV charging on electricity grids can be alleviated. With the open standard EEBus, EVBox Livo can communicate with TQ-Systems home EMS platform via a plug and play solution, allowing a seamless, compatible solution with the grid operator.
Home charging meets smart energy managementWith the increased popularity of solar panels, feeding surplus electricity back into the grid has become more expensive in various markets. TQ’s EMS can help to make better use of your solar panels, by charging an EV when there is surplus electricity available. This means that more solar and less grid energy is used within the household, and helps to avoid high energy bills.
Pairing with an energy manager like TQ can be easily done via the EVBox Install app, with no extra hardware needed. The EMS can be searched for in the network and automatically detected and paired.
“TQ-Automation has been working to integrate EEBus as a pioneer from the start. With the open standard EEBus the charging stations from EVBox can communicate with the TQ-Systems HEMS products via a plug and play solution. The big advantage is that customers don’t need to worry anymore about compatibility when using EEBus. TQ-Automation sees EEBus as the standard for communication in energy management applications to enable interoperability across different manufacturers.”
— Thomas Zwanziger (Head of Business Unit TQ-Automation at TQ-Group)“Through the open EEBus standard, we at EVBox empower EV drivers to optimize their energy usage and reduce energy costs. This collaboration with TQ-Systems reflects our commitment to make EV charging a part of the solution in the transition towards renewable energy by driving open standards.”

EVBox opens training center for AC and DC stations in Canéjan to equip installers and partners with relevant EV charging solutions skills EVBox, a leading provider of EV charging solutions, announces the opening of a new AC and DC training site in Canéjan, France, near its Bordeaux factory. The new facility will serve as a training center for installers or partners that are already IRVE certified to combat the scarcity of adequate training opportunities.
PARIS, January 23, 2023 – EVBox, a leading provider of EV charging solutions, envisions a future electric mobility becomes the new normal. Yet this transition faces a roadblock due to the scarcity of skilled workers and technicians trained specifically to support manufacturing, installing and maintaining EV charging stations, essential for this successful transformation.
Therefore, EVBox is dedicated to providing certified training programs to the electric mobility ecosystem through the opening of a new training facility in Canéjan (France), following the recent opening of another EVBox training facility in Essen, Germany. Expanding the number of training centers facilitates the opportunity to train a greater number of individuals, fostering wider skill development and knowledge dissemination.
The opening of a training facility takes full account of the two decrees of October 27th, 2021 (Decree n°1, Decree n°2), which underline the obligation and importance of training courses that contribute to the service quality commitments of charging stations open to the public. Additionally, it is essential to offer the necessary services for partners and installers to upkeep their charging stations to facilitate warranty services. Finally, a well-trained and educated partner or installer acts as a guarantee for the charging station's prolonged lifespan and ensures durability.
Training sessions will provide all the technical specifications, theoretical and practical knowledge of the installation, commissioning, and allow the participants to apply their practical skills in front of a real charging station. However, the trainings will only be available to installers already IRVE certified (certification obtained by a professional following training in the installation of equipment, proving his or her expertise and perfect knowledge of electrical equipment). The training sessions will be available in multiple languages and have the capacity to train close to 600 installers a year. Canéjan serves as EVBox’s dedicated after-sales facility, thus being the ideal place to offer training sessions, while Bordeaux houses the factory and corporate office.
The training center covers around 200 m2 and is staffed by an international, multilingual team of expert trainers in the charging industry.
