EVBox's CEO, Remco Samuels, has been elected as president in ChargeUp Europe, the voice of the electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure industry in Europe. Founded in 2020, ChargeUp Europe was founded by EVBox, Allego, and ChargePoint in order to progress the rollout of EV charging infrastructure throughout Europe.
AMSTERDAM, February 27, 2024 – On February 22, 2024, ChargeUp Europe’s General Assembly of the Members held elections for the Board of ChargeUp Europe. Five seats were up for (re)election. They were filled by Allego, ChargePoint, EVBox & Shell Recharge, who were re-elected, while Plugsurfing is joining the Board for the first time. The new and re-elected Board members are joining BP Pulse, EDP, GreenWay, and Fastned.
EVBox (Remco Samuels) was re-elected as the President of the Board, while Allego (Mathieu Bonnet) will serve as Vice-president and BP Pulse (Aurélie Balcon) as Treasurer.
Our Board members from across the EV charging value chain look forward to delivering a consumer-centric, open-market model for EV charging infrastructure across all of Europe. In the past year we have seen a robust growth of membership showing the need for a strong representation and advocacy efforts to addressexisting barriers, from grid connections to lack of standards.
