EVBox Everon integrates with Payter to provide more flexibility in payment methods for public fast charging
EVBox Everon, EVBox’s cloud based EV charging management platform, is now integrated with Payter to support credit and debit card payments for the company’s fast charging solutions, such as EVBox Troniq Modular. Businesses with on-the-go EV charging locations or destination charging can now offer their customers a wider range of payment methods when charging their EVs.
AMSTERDAM, October 24, 2023 — EVBox, a leading provider of electric vehicle charging solutions, has implemented the Payter payment solution, a leader in the field of contactless NFC and Cashless technology, into its charging software, EVBox Everon. Contactless payments for EVBox Troniq Modular charging stations allow EV drivers to pay for their charging session with their credit and debit card or smartphones directly at the charging station, while third-party roaming authorizes accessible charging from any charging service provider’s network. The payment solution is already available at certain EVBox Troniq Modular charging stations in Norway.
As electric mobility becomes the new normal, EV drivers expect charging and paying for the charging sessions to be as simple as possible. To facilitate fast and easy charging payments, EVBox is enabling three payment options for their charging stations: a terminal allowing for contactless card payments, a third-party roaming payment solution, and ad-hoc charging. This gives every EV driver the option to pay for their charging sessions with the payment method of their choice.Markus Dehn (CTO of EVBox)
The EVBox Everon software platform in combination with the Payter payment terminal supports payments with Visa, Mastercard, VPay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Maestro.
EVBox carried out an Early Adopter Program (EAP) to test and validate the integration of Payter with EVBox Everon charging software with its existing customers. The EAP tested contactless, ad-hoc charging, and third-party roaming payment integration on the EVBox Troniq Modular charging station. EAP participant Ragde Charge uses EVBox Everon software with the EVBox Troniq Modular charging stations at their locations throughout Norway.
Our goal is to provide customers with the flexibility to choose their preferred payment method when charging. Offering card payments at our charging stations has been a top priority since our launch in 2022. Card payments have been a highly requested feature by many of our customers, and after two months in operation, they now account for 1/3 of all charging sessions.Christoffer Pihl (CEO at Ragde Charge AS)
After successful testing, the end-to-end integration of Payter terminals with EVBox Everon is now available for all EVBox Troniq Modular charging stations. The cloud-to-cloud integration between EVBox Everon and Payter solutions is compliant with the latest version of Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP), an open source communication standard for EV charging stations and network software companies. The integration won't rely on firmware updates to enable new features or upgrades.
EVBox Everon’s easy-to-use software offers a variety of features, such as setting custom charging fees per location. EVBox Everon gives businesses full control over their charging network and provides unique insights into charging transactions and customer behavior. For instance, kWh usage, generated revenue, average charging times, and rush hour identification per location, all of which can be easily exported into periodic reports. The customizability of EVBox Everon makes it possible to name each charging station individually, making it easier to manage and maintain the equipment and keep track of insights.
We are delighted to embark on this exciting partnership with EVBox, where Payter’s P6X and Apollo Series of devices will be fully supported on the platform. At Payter, we remain committed to driving innovation and enhancing the user experience in the EV industry, particularly for ad-hoc payments.Ben Stocker (CCO at Payter)
