EVBox’s latest generation of AC charging stations, EVBox Livo and EVBox Liviqo, are among the first AC charging stations to offer the latest version of the industry standard Open Charge Point Protocol, OCPP 2.0.1. Being close partners for years, EVBox has successfully completed an integration with the AMPECO Charging Management Platform utilizing the advanced capabilities that OCPP 2.0.1 provides, including enhanced smart charging and improved security. Together, EVBox and AMPECO are setting a benchmark for excellence and innovation in EV charging.
AMSTERDAM, October 31, 2023 — EVBox, a leading provider of EV charging solutions, is one of the first to implement the most recent version of the Open Charge Point Protocol, OCPP 2.0.1* in its latest generation of AC charging stations EVBox Livo and EVBox Liviqo. These chargers, will now seamlessly integrate with the AMPECO Charge Point Management Platform via OCPP 2.0.1. The partnership spans globally across all countries supported by both partners’ product lines.
As members of the Open Charge Alliance (OCA), the organization responsible for developing OCPP, EVBox and AMPECO share a commitment to driving innovation, adoption and compliance with industry protocols and standards in EV charging.
OCPP 2.0.1-compliant EV chargers and EV charging management software will be able to offer substantial benefits to charge point operators (CPOs) and EV drivers.
CPOs get enhanced control over their charging infrastructure. They will, for example, be able to conveniently configure tariffs from the charging management software, implement unique payment solutions or show customized messages with real-time cost and rate information to drivers.
OCPP 2.0.1 also provides greater end-to-end security and improved station monitoring for large charging networks. It streamlines operations, reduces downtime, and cuts operating costs through improved remote maintenance capabilities.
The latest protocol will enable many upcoming industry technologies, such as ISO 15118. It ensures secure communication and advanced smart charging functionalities, as well as enables Plug & Charge for easier driver authorization.
With the EV market’s continuous growth, EVBox and AMPECO have fully embraced OCPP 2.0.1, recognizing its numerous benefits for charge point operators and its pivotal role in fostering innovation and ensuring compatibility.
At AMPECO, we are passionate about building the software platform that powers the EV charging of tomorrow and enables large-scale operators to run a global business with unmatched flexibility. As we move forward, it's evident that OCPP 2.0.1 is the future of our industry, and we're thrilled to shape it alongside our partner EVBox. By seamlessly integrating our software with their cutting-edge charging stations using OCPP 2.0.1, we're making EV charging smarter, safer, and more accessible than ever.Stefan Ivanov (Chief Revenue Officer at AMPECO )
EVBox has been making strides in the EV industry for over a decade now, and redefining the OCPP protocol is no exception. As a member of the Open Charge Alliance, we not only want to have the most secure and technologically innovative protocol integrated into our EV charging stations, but also invite other backends to jump on board with the OCPP 2.0.1 protocol to offer a flexible network to all EV drivers. We strongly believe that the new protocol is the better way forward for our industry and we aspire to motivate other manufacturers and software providers to integrate this standard. We are so happy that AMPECO is joining us for this monumental transition in the EV charging industry by complying with the future-proof OCPP 2.0.1.Natasa Jovanovic (Senior Director of Software Solutions at EVBox)
