EVBox Successfully Undergoes Corporate Social Responsibility Audit by multi-sector initiative ICS

AMSTERDAM, May 24, 2022 — GreenYellow, an energy transition partner for businesses and institutions, has joined forces with EVBox to install electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions at various customer premises. GreenYellow aims to roll out a few hundred EV charging locations in the following years.

As part of their global campaign for social (CSR) audits, GreenYellow reached out to EVBox to conduct an audit in their manufacturing factory close to Eindhoven (NL). The audit consisted of an on-site factory tour (including warehouse, production area, dormitory area, canteen, and kitchen), document review, and interviews of employees by an audit firm authorized by ICS. 

ICS is a multi-sector initiative of social and environmental audits in the textile, clothing, bazar, leisure, furniture, fixtures, equipment, appliances, and food sectors that works to improve working conditions along global supply chains. GreenYellow is a member of the ICS initiative through the Casino group, its parent company.

The overall purpose of the ICS on-site audit is to evaluate the facility’s compliance level with the ICS Code of Conduct, local regulations, and international standards and identify the necessary corrective actions and opportunities for improvement. 

The audit was conducted on-site on VDL’s premises in Eersel, the Netherlands. VDL Apparatenbouw has been a production partner of EVBox since 2011 and mainly produces the company’s commercial charger EVBox BusinessLine. 

The Code of Conduct covers nine chapters of the ICS social audit questionnaire:

• Management system, transparency, and traceability

• Minimum age, child labor, and young workers

• Forced labor

• Discrimination

• Disciplinary practices, harassment, or abuse 

• Freedom of association and grievance mechanism

• Working hours and overtime

• Remuneration and benefits

• Health and safety
