On Monday 3 February, EVBox announced the opening of its new Polish office during Dutch E-Mobility Day—organized by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Polish Alternative Fuels Association (PSPA). The office will be based in Warsaw and allows EVBox to focus on its business interests in Poland, Czechia, and Slovakia. By venturing more into the Central European market, EVBox will further establish itself as a key player in EV charging worldwide.
Warsaw and Amsterdam, February 6, 2020—During Dutch E-Mobility Day, which took place this Monday in Warsaw, EVBox announced its expansion into Central Europe with a new office opening in Warsaw. This will be EVBox’s thirteenth global office opened since being founded in 2010 in the Netherlands—expanding its network into Poland, Czechia, and Slovakia.
Poland has been focusing on the development of new forms of mobility for a few years already. Its “Act on Electromobility and Alternative fuels,” introduced two years ago, outlined changes to accelerate the adoption of zero-emission transport—Poland has since become one of the leaders in the European electric bus market. The "Electromobility Counter,” operated by the Polish Alternative Fuels Association, showed that by the end of 2019, almost 2,000 publicly accessible charging ports were operational in Poland—an increase of 100 percent on the previous year.
Poland’s largest operators aim to launch another 6000 ports in the next two years, and private infrastructure is also developing rapidly. The potential for private charging infrastructure in the Polish market is estimated at 80-100 thousand charging ports by 2025. In addition to this, the announced subsidy programs for both charging stations and vehicles will also help to accelerate market development. Similar aid programs also operate successfully in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
EVBox will significantly contribute to the objectives mentioned above. With its portfolio of charging solutions, ranging from home chargers (3.7 kW) and fast-chargers (up to 100 kW), to ultra-fast chargers (up to 350 kW) and sophisticated charging management software, EVBox will increase the likelihood of having sufficient EV charging infrastructure in Central Europe. With over 100,000 charging ports installed globally, a commitment to continued investment in R&D (Bordeaux factory reopened in 2019; Lab Space opened earlier this year) and a comprehensive global partner program, EVBox has a strong foundation for successfully establishing EV charging infrastructure in Poland, Slovakia and Czechia.
Janusz Grądzki, Regional Director of EVBox, shares his aspirations for the new EVBox team in Warsaw:
As we recognize the high potential for EV charging in Poland, Slovakia and Czechia—where governments, partners, and clients are facing challenges to adopt E-Mobility accordingly—I am happy that we are able to respond to their needs with direct local support. We’ll provide them with the market knowledge they need, and with precise charging solutions and management systems for the best possible electric charging infrastructure. EV drivers in Central Europe will soon be able to charge everywhere—at home, at their workplace, and on the road.Janusz Grądzki, Regional Director Poland, Slovakia & Czechia in Sales of EVBox
Regional Director Janusz Grądzki will build the team in the Warsaw office, alongside Magdalena Kisielińska (Business Development Manager) and Natalia Zalewska (Partner Manager).
