Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) verifies that EVBox level-2 charging station reduces unnecessary energy waste
New York, July 19th, 2018 – EVBox, the leading global manufacturer of electric vehicle charging stations and charging management software, announces today it has earned ENERGY STAR® certification in North America for their BusinessLine level-2 electric vehicle (EV) charging station.
ENERGY STAR is widely recognized as the trusted resource for energy efficiency. Products that earn the ENERGY STAR label meet strict guidelines set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and are independently certified to save energy, save money and help protect the environment. Specifically for EV charging stations, certification means the station is reducing energy waste during at least 85% of its lifetime.
ENERGY STAR® certified EV charging stations are also required to undergo extensive safety testing, as well as adhere to the industry’s open standards protocol (OCPP), which ensures that participating charging stations can operate on any participating network software.
Congratulations to EVBox for earning ENERGY STAR certification. ENERGY STAR certified EV chargers are the most energy efficient on the market, helping to protect our climate while also offering other consumer benefits, including safety certification and the use of open standards for connectivity.Ann Bailey, Branch Chief, EPA ENERGY STAR Products Program
EVBox BusinessLine, which was first introduced into the North American market in 2017, has been specifically designed to reduce waste during both all operating stages (such as idle, charging, and plugged in but not charging). Besides passing the EPA’s testing and becoming ENERGY START® Certified, it is also UL certified and OCPP compliant. EVBox has installed 1,500 charging stations throughout North America over the last three years, and recently won a large tender with Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) to install 2,560 new charging ports across California.
We’re very excited to be ENERGY STAR® certified in North America. EVBox has worked hard on creating a superior, energy efficient EV charging station. Now our customers can take solace in knowing that, by choosing EVBox, they’re selecting equipment that has low energy waste and a positive environmental impact.Sibu Janardhanan, SVP North America, EVBox
