At this year’s REVOLUTION Digital—Europe’s biggest eMobility event organized by EVBox—startups were able to pitch their strategies and ideas to an expert jury and online audience. Both winners of the startup pitching competition will benefit from EVBox’s coaching program—though one will also be given an opportunity to participate in ANTLER’s startup program in Amsterdam.
Amsterdam, November 26, 2020—New to this year’s REVOLUTION was the startup pitching competition—an event dedicated to helping cleantech startups get their voices heard.
Out of 31 applications, EVBox and Startup Amsterdam selected six entrepreneurs to present their businesses in front of the REVOLUTION audience on September 8, 2020, during the digital conference. The jury consisted of Angelika Berger-Sodian (Bestselling author, keynote speaker, and board advisor), Luc Brandts (CEO of Software Improvement Group and member of the supervisory board of EVBox), Lizann Tjon (Program Manager for Innovation at City of Amsterdam), and Hugo Pereira (Chief Staff & Growth Officer at EVBox).
The jury award went to ChargeSim, built to accelerate the transition to EVs by reducing the costs of charging infrastructure through better modeling and design.
The audience award was won by Aikite, a startup engaged in the social sector with a focus on water management within Indonesian communities.
Both winners of the startup pitching competition received three coaching sessions organized by EVBox—covering topics such as marketing and growth, sales, business models and strategy, as well as funding and access to investors.
This year’s REVOLUTION partner, ANTLER, a global early-stage VC empowering and investing in exceptional entrepreneurs, will help Andrew Rutgers receive expert advice and resources to improve ChargeSim’s product-market fit and traction while meeting more like-minded founders during the program. Antler’s third cohort in Amsterdam brings together a diverse group of exceptional people from technologists to experienced business operators and serial entrepreneurs from 24 different nationalities. On top of this, all founders get access to capital to cover costs during the first two months and the chance to pitch to the Antler investment committee for a €100,000 pre-seed investment.
I’m very proud to see how REVOLUTION has evolved over the past four years. We started this movement to give sustainability enthusiasts a chance to come together each year and help to establish a more sustainable future for mobility. Compared to traditional and more product-focused tradeshows, REVOLUTION aims to inspire the community and enable collaboration. This year’s first startup pitching competition was a great platform for entrepreneurs to get their voices heard, and I’m more than happy that we can support as they continue their journeys.Kristof Vereenooghe (CEO of EVBox)
We are delighted to partner with REVOLUTION and support exceptional individuals like eMobility domain expert Andrew Rutgers on their entrepreneurial journeys. By participating in Antler, Andrew will have the right support from relevant energy and mobility advisors, as well as resources and access to exceptional founders and capital, increasing the probability of ChargeSim scaling successfully.Youri Doeleman (Partner at Antler Netherlands)
