EVBox Iqon electric vehicle charging station wins internationally renowned iF DESIGN AWARD
Manufacturer EVBox and designer VanBerlo prove that electric vehicle (EV) charging station design is also a critical feature.
Amsterdam, February 12th, 2019 – EVBox, one of the leading global manufacturers of electric vehicle charging stations and charging software, and creative designer VanBerlo are proud to announce that EVBox Iqon charging station has won the prestigious iF DESIGN AWARD 2019. The iF DESIGN AWARD is one of the most internationally renowned prizes for design and is considered a symbol of exception quality and design. EVBox Iqon won in the discipline Product, under the Automobiles/Vehicles category.
EVBox Iqon charging station was built and designed to make EV charging accessible to everyone. Features designed with drivers’ comfort in mind include the auto-retractable cable management system, the intuitive touchscreen and the ADA compliance (wheelchair accessible). With its contemporary yet simple design, this new charging station easily blends into the environment while enduring extreme weather conditions ranging from -30 to +60 degrees Celsius. Thanks to its unique modular lay-out, EVBox Iqon is also extremely easy to install, service and maintain.

Winning the iF DESIGN AWARD is a dream come true for our team. We spent 18 months researching and designing the EVBox Iqon station, with the goal of creating an EV charging solution that is exceptionally convenient to use and maintain. However, we also realized that the way its serviced and designed are becoming more important, as electric driving and charging become mainstream and drivers now (rightfully!) demand a good-looking product. We won the CES Innovation Award last month, and are honored to also be taking home the iF DESIGN AWARD.
iF AWARD for exceptional product design
The iF DESIGN AWARD is one of the most important design prizes in the world. For 65 years, designers and manufacturers have strived to win the internationally renowned iF label for design. Winning an iF DESIGN AWARD is a seal of quality for exceptional design and outstanding services.
Over 6400 entries from 50 countries were judged by a 67-member jury based on several criteria: Innovation, Functionality, Aesthetics, Responsibility and Positioning.
